Long Have I Waited - Making It Happen

When I was accepted by The Laboure Society, I decided that I wanted to be able to provide benefactors with something tangible for their generosity.  A woman who worked with Laboure before me had recorded a CD and I thought it was a good idea....but I hadn't performed professionally in ages and to say the least, I had my doubts about whether or not I could "pull it off".  One thing I knew for sure was, I couldn't do it alone.  Fortunately for me, Paul Ferraro is my friend.  When I called him, his support was immediate....and he encouraged me to just "do it".  To that end I put out a call for the help of a number of musicians, vocalists and one very generous and talented sound engineer (Rave Tesar of Studio X in Ridgewood, NJ).The response I received really knocked me off my feet.  Not only did my life long friends respond with a generous "Yes" but so did people I knew only by name or reputation.....and to my complete delight I was also blessed to have a few folks I'd never even met before (brought in by friends already on the project).  I think perhaps the biggest surprise of all was the YES I received from Mr. Bucky Pizzarelli.  You jazz aficionados out there will recognize the name;  for those not so inclined toward jazz music, Bucky Pizzarelli is a legendary jazz guitarist.  How he came to record on this CD is nothing short of the hand of God working through my dear friend, Paul Ferraro, Mrs. Pizzarelli and Bucky's generous heart....not to mention the intercession of my Mom (now with God) who was Mrs. Pizzarelli's classmate many years ago.

All these artists poured their time and talent into making "Long Have I Waited" a reality for me. I am first and foremost thankful to Jesus for his unfailing grace and unconditional love.  I am so very pleased with this project and I will always be grateful for the open and giving hearts of each and every person who stepped into Studio X, put pen to paper, fingers to the keyboard, or "electronic pens" to computer drawing screens (SORRY ANGELICA, I CAN'T THINK OF WHAT YOU CALL YOUR HIGH TECH DRAWING THINGY) so that my little idea could have life.

In acknowledgment of their talent and with my undying gratitude, I introduce VOCARE

Dave Corsello, Paul Ferraro, Francis X Gunn,OFM, Claudia Hayden, Jaclyn Klein, Craig Limey, BobMcParland, Linda Mayurnik, Bucky PIzzarelli, NancyQuinn, Carol Sharar, Rave Tesar, and Michael Ward

It takes more than musicians and a great sound engineer to make a CD.  I have been blessed by the artwork of Angelica Rose Ferraro (Cover Design), the photography of Michael Ciavarella & Claudia Hayden (insert photos), and the technical prowess of Margery Theroux (Graphics Production Management).

Oh YES, I'm on the CD too!

How often am I going to record with three jazz wizards (Rave Tesar, Dave Corsello, Bucky Pizzareli), a Franciscan priest who can really sing and play guitar like he dropped out of heaven one day (Rev. Francis Gunn), a magnificent hairstylist with a fine singing voice and a soul-filled and radiant personality (Paul Ferraro), an accomplished violinist who has worked with people I've known on the folk music circuit (Carol Sharar), a brillant composer (Michael Ward), an incredible madrigal choir arranger (Craig Lymie), the soul of St. Anne's church music for the past few decades (Nancy Quinn), a dedicated and innovative percussionist(Jackie), and a singing Benedictine nun?
Collaboration is a wonderful thing -
and those who take on the commitment of vocations are the great collaborators: with God and with humanity.

I know what you mean, Bob.  What a unique blend of artists!  For all those out there wondering what this might all sound like, get your copy now...this is a once in a lifetime collaboration.  Don't miss it!

OH, Bob forgot to mention the privilege of recording with the University English Department Head in possession of amazing song writing, guitar playing, and vocal ability who happens to have a string of literary and musical credits to his name including a masterful original piece on "Long Have I Waited"......his name is Bob.....Bob McParland, in fact...wonder how he could forget that?

    Hey All,

My name is Angelica Rose Ferraro and I'm the artist who created the cover design for Vocare's album, "Long Have I Waited". Originally, I began the project as a mission to assist one of the most influential women in my life: my Aunt Pat. The design process itself was instant, the image came to mind when I thought of my father's contribution to the album ("What Child Is This"). I'm so glad that everyone seems to be enjoying it, and it's my sincerest hope to see this CD succeed after witnessing everyones' hard work and dedication!

    Congratulations and pax unto you!
